Jean-Jacques Lorraine Architects are based in London, but routinely creating stunning architecture all over the British Isles – and the world – JJL Associates (JJLA) specialises in building in conservation areas, renovations to listed buildings and workplace design. Award-winner Jean-Jacques Lorraine grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa, before moving to Britain in 1991. After qualifying as an architect, J-J worked on celebrated landmarks with distinguished architects. The Selfridges redevelopment in Oxford Street with Sir Norman Foster; BBC Broadcasting House with Sir Richard MacCormac; the Soho Theatre with Richard Paxton; and Hong Kong’s Festival Walk with Bernardo Fort-Brescia. These collaborations delivered four award-winning projects and represented a solid platform for starting his own practice, J-JLA. Adding value As you’d expect from keen architects, we appreciate the breathtaking simplicity and beauty of the Laban Dance Centre by Herzog & de Meuron but we are also fully paid up members of commercial reality. Our designs have the power to add value to your building and working with you, we know that regardless of scale or budget, every project has the potential to be exemplary. JJLA has the experience and passion to realise this potential.
